Los Angeles Climate
Los Angeles enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm to hot summers and mild, sometimes wet winters. The Pacific Ocean controls the temperature of the beach areas cooling them down in the summers and warming them up in the winter, making beach activities more enjoyable whatever the season.
LA temperatures can rise above 32 °C (90 °F) in the summer, but average daytime highs are generally 27 °C (82 °F) with overnight lows of 17 °C (63 °F). Winter daytime high temperatures will get up to around 18 °C (65 °F), on average, with overnight lows of 10 °C (48 °F) rain is common during this season. July to September are the hottest months in LA, with August being the hottest.
